Government & Public Services (GPS) Sales Excellence Proposal Studio Deputy Manager
We are seeking a proactive Deputy Manager with strong organizational and leadership skills to support our Proposal Studio team. This role involves assisting the Manager in overseeing pursuit support specialists and ensuring the development of high-quality first draft response deliverables for various solicitations within the US Government and Public Services (GPS) business. You will play a crucial role in implementing leading practices and leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance proposal development processes.
Work You Will Do:
As a Deputy Manager in the Proposal Studio team, you will support the Manager in ensuring efficient processes and GenAI technology utilization for rapid response to pipeline requests. Your role will be vital in maintaining proposal kickoff/jump-start materials meet or exceed defined quality standards and fostering a collaborative team environment. You will also assist in aligning team efforts with strategic business priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the Proposal Studio team lead in overseeing the use of Gen AI tools for proposal content generation and refinement.
Collaborate with the Studio team to tailor AI-generated responses to specific client requirements and RFP guidelines.
Ensure consistency of proposal documents with company branding and are compliant.
Support the team in leveraging leading pursuit practices following the GPS pursuit methodology process diligently and utilizing available tools/technology for first draft proposal development.
Assist quality reviews of drafts to mitigate potential issues and share feedback with team members to encourage an atmosphere of continuous process improvement.
Communicate regularly with Sales Excellence leadership on status updates.
Assist in updating and improving proposal content based on feedback and best practices.
Support the Proposal Studio team lead in ensuring team members are well utilized and engaged.
Additional responsibilities
Assist in managing team performance through regular check-ins and feedback.
Help manage access to tools and platforms (MS Teams, Email, SharePoint, etc.).
Work with GPS Sales Excellence Leaders to support strategic priorities.
Ensure compliance with GPS and firm best practices, including adherence to templates and guidelines.
Provide regular reports on team task completion and project timelines to leadership.
Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and support the Manager in developing a high-performing team.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies without the proposal development workflow.
Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during the proposal development process, ensuring smooth operations.
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for proposal initiatives.
The Team
The USI GPS Sales Excellence team is an essential part of Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) practice, dedicated to driving strategic sales initiatives and supporting the pursuit of high-value opportunities. This team works in close collaboration with US-based counterparts to ensure a cohesive and effective sales process. They are involved in key activities such as opportunity identification, competitive intelligence gathering, and providing comprehensive proposal support. The USI GPS Sales Excellence team plays a pivotal role in enabling Deloitte to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to government clients, maintaining a competitive advantage in the public sector marketplace.
Qualifications
Have approximately 8+ years of work experience with minimum of five (5) years in proposal management/proposal development
Masters in business administration (MBA)/ Technology
3+ years experience in supervising teams
Required skillsets & personal attributes
Basic understanding of AI technologies and their practical application in proposal development
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding of pursuit management for the US Government and Public Services industry (preferred).
Ability to work under tight timelines and adapt to different working styles.
Desired skills
Familiarity with Generative AI tools for content creation.
Experience in Proposal automation tools like Qvidian, Responsive, GenAI tools and prompting best practices, etc.
Experience with workflow management processes and tools.
Strong team collaboration and support skills.
