Job description for Deputy Housekeeper

A Deputy Housekeeper is responsible for supporting the Executive Housekeeper in managing the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department of a facility. They assist in supervising housekeeping staff, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring that the housekeeping department operates efficiently and effectively

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing and managing the entire housekeeping department, including supervising staff and managing schedules

• Providing leadership and support to housekeeping staff, ensuring that they are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.

• Conducting regular inspections of all areas of the facility to ensure that cleanliness and maintenance standards are being met.

• Assisting in ordering and maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools.

• Assisting in hiring and training new housekeeping staff and providing ongoing training to ensure that they are familiar with company policies and procedures.

• Responding to customer complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services and taking appropriate action to address the issue

• Ensuring that housekeeping staff follows all safety and health protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials

• Assisting in preparing and submitting reports on housekeeping activities and budgets to management.

• Collaborating with other departments to ensure that housekeeping services are integrated into overall facility operations.

• Assisting in managing budgets and ensuring that the housekeeping department operates within its allocated budget

Qualifications:

• Minimum SSC pass or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred

• Prior experience in housekeeping or hotel management required, with at 6-7 years in a management role,
