Dean - Undergraduate Programs

Role Purpose

The Dean Undergraduate Programs will provide strategic and academic leadership across UG programs (BBA, Journalism & Mass Communication, Psychology) and lead the design of a flagship 4-year multidisciplinary undergraduate program. The role focuses on building a future-ready, outcome-driven education framework aligned with NEP 2020 and global liberal education models.

This position requires a cross-disciplinary academic leader with strong execution capability.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

• Oversee UG programs ensuring curricular coherence, rigor, and outcome-based learning.
• Drive employability, higher education, and entrepreneurship pathways.

Multidisciplinary Program Development

• Design and implement a 4-year UG program with multiple entryexit options.
• Build core foundations (critical thinking, communication, ethics, quantitative skills, AI literacy).
• Integrate management, psychology, media, law, and technology.
• Develop flexible majorminor / track-based structures.

Faculty & Pedagogy

• Enable cross-school collaboration and team teaching.
• Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, and capability building.
• Promote experiential, project-based, and interdisciplinary learning.

Student Experience

• Strengthen academic advising, internships, live projects, research, and community engagement.
• Build pathways to placements, higher studies, startups, and creative/professional careers.

Governance & Quality

• Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.
• Lead assessment frameworks, academic audits, and continuous improvement.

External Engagement

• Build industry and institutional partnerships.
• Represent UG programs in forums and contribute to thought leadership and branding.

Qualifications

Essential

• PhD with postgraduate degree (Management / Psychology / Media / Social Sciences / Law / Interdisciplinary preferred)
• 15+ years academic experience with leadership exposure
• Proven record in curriculum design, academic governance, and multidisciplinary education

Desirable

• Experience launching new programs
• International exposure
• Familiarity with NEP 2020 and flexible degree structures
• Understanding of AI integration in education
