Job Description
Dean Training & Development (Faculty Development & Pedagogy)
Role Purpose
The Dean Training& Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive faculty development programs with a strong focus on pedagogy, outcome-based education (OBE), digital teachinglearning, research capability, leadership skills . The role aims to enhance teaching effectiveness, academic quality, and institutional rankings through structured and continuous upskilling of faculty members.
Key Responsibilities
- Faculty Pedagogy & TeachingLearning Enhancement
- Design and execute pedagogical training programs covering:
- Outcome-Based Education(OBE)
- Active and experiential learning strategies
- Bloomstaxonomy-basedcourseplanning
- Assessment and evaluation reforms
- Case-based, project-based, and problem-based learning
- Promotestudent-centric,blended,andflippedclassroommethodologies.
- Develop standard teaching frameworks and pedagogy guidelines across departments.
- Faculty Upskilling & Professional Development
- Identify skill gaps among faculty members through training need analysis(TNA).
- Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, certification programs, and boot camps on:
- Emerging technologies and interdisciplinary areas
- Research methodology and academic writing
- Use of AI tools in teaching and research
- Industry-aligned curriculum delivery
- Design induction and refresher programs for newly joined and senior faculty.
- Digital & Technology-Enabled Learning
- Train faculty on LMS platforms, MOOCs, virtual labs, and digital assessment tools .
- Encourage adoption of Edutech, AI-enabled teaching tools, and data-driven academic practices .
- Support departments in developing online, hybrid, and certificate programs .
- Industry & External Engagement
- Collaborate with industry experts, premier institutions, and national/international agencies for advanced training.
- Invite distinguished academicians and practitioners as resource persons.
- Develop MoUs for faculty immersion, certification, and joint training programs .
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish KPIs to measure training effectiveness and learning outcomes .
- Maintain structured documentation of training programs and faculty participation.
- Submit periodic reports to academic leadership and BoG.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Ph.D. in Engineering/Management/Sciences/Education or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 1520 years of academic experience , including senior leadership roles .
- Proven experience in faculty development, pedagogy training, or academic quality initiatives .
