Role Overview

The Dean Research is a senior academic leader responsible for building and institutionalising a robust research, innovation, and knowledge ecosystem at IILM University . The role focuses on strengthening research quality, funded projects, doctoral programs, industry collaboration, and national and international academic visibility, aligned with the universitys vision, accreditation requirements, and global best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Research Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement a university-wide research strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Define research priorities, thematic areas, and centres of excellence.
• Establish policies for research governance, ethics, integrity, and impact.

Faculty Research Development

• Mentor faculty for high-quality publications, books, cases, and policy outputs.
• Design research incentives, seed grants, and performance-linked metrics.
• Lead capacity-building initiatives in research methods, academic writing, and grant acquisition.

Funded Research & Grants

• Drive external research funding from national/international agencies, industry, and government bodies.
• Support proposal development, grant management, compliance, and reporting.
• Strengthen consultancy and industry-sponsored research initiatives.

Doctoral Programs

• Oversee Ph.D. programs across schools, ensuring academic rigor, timely completion, and UGC compliance.
• Enhance doctoral supervision, coursework, and research training systems.

Research Platforms & Knowledge Creation

• Establish and strengthen research centres, labs, journals, working paper series, and conferences.
• Promote translation of research into policy, industry, and societal impact.

Accreditation, Rankings & Compliance

• Support NAAC, NIRF, QS, and other ranking and accreditation processes.
• Track and improve research metrics and ensure regulatory compliance.

Collaboration & Visibility

• Build national and international academic, industry, and policy partnerships.
• Represent the university in research forums, conferences, and councils.
• Enhance IILM Universitys research visibility and thought leadership.

Governance & Administration

• Chair and contribute to research, ethics, and doctoral committees.
• Develop research policies, SOPs, and institutional reports.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Essential

• Ph.D. from a recognized Indian or international university.
• Minimum 15 years of academic/research experience, with 5 years in senior research leadership.
• Strong publication record in reputed journals and/or leading publishers.
• Proven success in securing and managing funded research.
• In-depth knowledge of UGC regulations, research ethics, and accreditation frameworks.

Desirable

• Experience in building research centres or doctoral schools.
• International research collaborations and exposure to global rankings.
• Interdisciplinary or industry-linked research experience.
