Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Database Administrator (PostgreSQL) located in Ahmedabad. The Database Administrator will manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. Daily tasks include monitoring database performance, performing troubleshooting, implementing database designs, managing replication processes, and optimizing database infrastructure. The role will require collaboration with technical and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and enhance database solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or in a similar database
• management role.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL installation, configuration, backup, recovery, replication, and tuning.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with PostgreSQL high availability solutions, including replication, clustering (e.g.,
• streaming replication, logical replication), and failover.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker,
• Kubernetes) for database deployment.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for database automation.
• Solid understanding of database security, including user access control, encryption, and
• auditing.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat_activity, pgBadger, and third-party
• tools) to assess and improve database performance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
