Database Engineer (Postgres)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Amazon RDS and PostgreSQL . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and performance monitoring of cloud-hosted databases. A working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database is a plus and will be considered beneficial.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer, monitor, and optimize AWS RDS databases with a focus on PostgreSQL .
• Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
• Ensure high availability and security of database systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with application developers and DevOps teams to support database-related needs.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or AWS tools.
• Maintain documentation of database configurations and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience managing AWS RDS environments.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services like CloudWatch, IAM, and CloudFormation is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Total experience of 6-7 yrs
