Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database design, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and supporting business critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems
- Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization
- Ensure high availability , scalability, and reliability of databases
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Implement database security , access control, and compliance standards
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and version migrations
- Troubleshoot database issues and resolve incidents efficiently
- Work closely with application developers and infrastructure teams
- Manage database capacity planning and storage requirements
- Create and maintain database documentation and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Proficiency in SQL , stored procedures, and query optimization
- Experience with database performance tuning and indexing strategies
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools
- Understanding of database security concepts and encryption
- Experience with Linux / Windows server environments
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
- Exposure to cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
- Knowledge of replication, clustering, and sharding
- Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD, automation scripts)
- Understanding of data compliance standards (GDPR, ISO, SOC)
Tools & Technologies:
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB
- Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
- Monitoring: Nagios, Prometheus, CloudWatch
- Scripting: Shell, Python
- Version Control: Git
