About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in YugabyteDB to manage and support highly available distributed database environments for enterprise workloads.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability architectures, with exposure to cloud or large-scale infrastructure environments.

This role will be based in Mumbai / Hyderabad and will support critical production systems for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Administration

• Install, configure, and manage YugabyteDB clusters in production environments
• Perform database provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
• Monitor database health, availability, and performance

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

• Analyze and optimize query performance and database workloads
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed database environments
• Monitor system metrics and proactively tune database configurations

High Availability & Scalability

• Manage distributed database clusters ensuring high availability and fault tolerance
• Implement replication, failover strategies, and disaster recovery mechanisms
• Support scaling of database nodes and cluster expansion

Backup & Recovery

• Implement backup strategies and recovery procedures
• Perform regular backup validation and restoration testing
• Ensure compliance with data protection and disaster recovery policies

Automation & Monitoring

• Develop scripts and automation for routine DBA tasks
• Integrate monitoring tools for proactive alerting and incident response
• Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD database deployments

Operational Support

• Provide L2/L3 production support for database environments
• Troubleshoot database incidents and ensure timely resolution
• Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 8 years of overall DBA experience
• Hands-on experience with YugabyteDB administration
• Strong understanding of distributed databases and cluster architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, and failover
• Knowledge of Linux environments and shell scripting
• Experience in performance tuning and query optimization

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Exposure to Kubernetes-based deployments
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Knowledge of automation tools and infrastructure-as-code
