Data Tech Lead (Snowflake & ADF)

Key Responsibilities:

Job Purpose / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Tech Lead with 1013 years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Platform development, with strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Python. The candidate will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions while mentoring engineering teams and ensuring data quality, governance, and performance across the enterprise data platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architecture and data pipelines using Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and Python.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineers and developers.

1. Data Engineering & Integration

• Architect and implement data ingestion frameworks from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data processing and transformation.

1. Data Warehouse & Snowflake Optimization

• Design and manage Snowflake data warehouse architecture, including schema design, clustering, partitioning, and performance optimization.
• Implement best practices for data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).

1. Performance & Reliability

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve Snowflake performance and query optimization.
• Ensure data pipeline reliability, scalability, and availability.

1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.

1. Data Governance & Security

• Ensure implementation of data governance, data quality, and security standards.
• Implement access controls, compliance, and data lineage within the data platform.

1. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate and implement modern data engineering tools and best practices.
• Drive automation and efficiency in the data engineering lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 1013 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform development.

Technical Skills / Competencies

Core Skills

• Strong expertise in SQL and Data Warehousing concepts
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation

Data Engineering Skills

• ETL / ELT pipeline development
• Data modeling (Dimensional Modeling)
• Data Lake & Data Warehouse architecture
• Data pipeline orchestration

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks)
• Knowledge of CI/CD for data pipelines
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Snowflake certification is a plus
