Data Migration Specialist

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Process Definition & Planning

• Define the end-to-end migration scope, strategy, and detailed approach.
• Develop project-specific migration frameworks and align them with Symphonys data migration standards.
• Identify dependencies, resource needs, and milestones.

2. Environment Setup & Team Allocation

• Establish the required technical environments and data staging setups.
• Assign roles and responsibilities to team members based on project requirements.

3. Project Management & Execution

• Prepare detailed project plans and migration timelines.
• Oversee execution and ensure all migration tasks meet defined SLAs and quality benchmarks.
• Track progress, escalate blockers, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Lead client calls, data mapping sessions, and review discussions.
• Act as the central communication bridge between the client, QA, and internal teams.
• Review and approve migration instructions, mappings, discrepancy reports, and QC outputs.

5. Risk & Issue Management

• Proactively identify risks and define mitigation strategies.
• Handle escalations and critical situations with timely corrective actions.

6. Team Coordination & Mentoring

• Coordinate efforts across functional teams, including QA and IT.
• Train and mentor team members for project-specific processes and tools.

7. Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain all project-related documentation, including migration instructions, risk logs, and lessons learned.

Recommend and implement improvements in tools, methods, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 68 years of experience in data migration or data integration projects.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role managing end-to-end migration deliveries.
• Proven track record in large-scale or multi-system migration projects.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth understanding of Symphony and legacy IP systems (both technical and business).
• Strong knowledge of data migration, mapping, and reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in SQL/Oracle or other migration/ETL tools is an advantage.
• Experience with MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent project management tools.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
