A physical data management expert needs a blend of technical skills (SQL, databases, modeling, cloud), analytical abilities (critical thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition), governance knowledge (security, compliance), and strong soft skills (communication, project management, leadership, stakeholder management) to manage data lifecycles from collection to insight, ensuring quality, security, and business value.

Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

• Database Management: Deep understanding of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and architecture.
• Programming: Proficiency in SQL, R, or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Data Engineering: Knowledge of data warehousing, integration tools, ETL processes, and cloud platforms ( Azure).
• Data Cleaning & Prep: Skills in preparing and transforming raw data for analysis.
• Data Visualization: Creating charts and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to communicate findings. (Not mandatory skill)

Analytical & Conceptual Skills

• Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Interpreting complex data, identifying trends, and solving business problems.
• Data Analysis: Finding patterns, generating insights, and understanding data quality.
