Job Title: Engineering Manager - Data Management (MMIS Healthcare)

About the Job

10-15 years of experience in data management and engineering within the MMIS (Medicaid Management Information Systems) healthcare domain, with proven leadership in managing teams focused on healthcare data platforms, compliance, and Medicaid/Medicare systems.

Lead the design, implementation, and management of data management solutions for MMIS platforms supporting Medicaid programs. Ensure robust data governance, stewardship, metadata management, and data lineage across both OLTP systems (such as claims processing and eligibility checks) and OLAP environments (data warehouses and reporting systems). Oversee data quality, security, and compliance with HIPAA and Medicaid regulations while driving the transformation of data architectures in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.

What you will do:

·       Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts in building scalable data pipelines, data governance frameworks, and metadata repositories across transactional and analytical systems.

·       Establish and enforce data governance policies and quality standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance for MMIS data.

·       Lead data stewardship efforts, collaborating with business stakeholders to maintain data ownership, monitor data quality, and resolve data issues in OLTP and OLAP environments.

·       Implement and maintain metadata management systems to catalog data assets, business rules, and transformation logic.

·       Design and manage data lineage tracking processes to provide end-to-end visibility of data flows from source OLTP systems through ETL pipelines to OLAP reporting platforms.

·       Coordinate with external vendors and cross-functional teams for MMIS software implementations and data platform migrations.

·       Drive strategic initiatives in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and AI/ML integration to advance predictive analytics capabilities.

Who you are:  

Education & Experience:  

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

·       10-15 years of progressive experience in data management/engineering, with a strong background in MMIS or Medicaid healthcare systems.

·       Expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL, T-SQL), Python/PySpark, ETL tools, and cloud platforms such as AWS Glue, S3, and EKS.

·       Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of 10+ in healthcare data environments with HIPAA compliance focus.

Technical Skills

·       Proficiency with AWS or Apache ecosystem tools, data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Apache Atlas), and healthcare interoperability standards like FHIR/HL7.

·       Certifications in AWS, data governance (CDMP), or healthcare compliance.

·       Experience with private equity healthcare technology transitions and advanced AI/ML applications for healthcare analytics.

·       Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to drive cross-team collaboration.
