Job Description
Role Expectations:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data architecture, primarily on AWS
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Execute data migration projects (on-prem AWS or GCP/Azure AWS)
- Manage data ingestion from multiple sources (APIs, databases, third-party tools)
- Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance
- Optimize data storage, partitioning, and query performance
- Work with analytics and product teams to support reporting and insights
- Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot data issues proactively
- Document data models, pipelines, and architecture decisions
Qualifications:
- 36 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (preferred over GCP/Azure)
- Experience building cloud-native data architectures
- Proven experience in data migration projects
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational & NoSQL databases
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools or frameworks (Airflow, Glue, DBT, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
- Understanding of data security, access controls, and best practices
