Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer who can design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud-based data architecture, with a strong preference for AWS.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in developing data pipelines, working with large datasets, and executing data migration projects from on-prem or other cloud platforms to AWS.

This role works closely with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to ensure reliable, high-quality data availability for analytics and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data architecture, primarily on AWS
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Execute data migration projects (on-prem AWS or GCP/Azure AWS)
• Manage data ingestion from multiple sources (APIs, databases, third-party tools)
• Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance
• Optimize data storage, partitioning, and query performance
• Work with analytics and product teams to support reporting and insights
• Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot data issues proactively
• Document data models, pipelines, and architecture decisions

Required Skills & Experience

• 36 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (preferred over GCP/Azure)
• Experience building cloud-native data architectures
• Proven experience in data migration projects
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational & NoSQL databases
• Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake)
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools or frameworks (Airflow, Glue, DBT, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
• Understanding of data security, access controls, and best practices
