Domain / Vertical Financial Services (Insurance, Investment, or Fintech)

Qualifications B.Sc / M.Sc / BCA / MCA in IT or Computer Science

Certification Advantageous - AWS Certified Data Engineer

Relevant Experience

Minimum 5+ years of core experience in Data Engineering.
Proven experience with cloud-based data ecosystems (AWS or Azure).
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and pipeline orchestration.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience with tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or Databricks.
Familiarity with regulatory data requirements in financial services.\

Mandatory Skills:

Cloud Platforms: AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda), Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Fabric), Databricks

Programming: Python, SQL, JavaScript, XML, Shell Scripting

Data Processing: Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake)

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation

Version Control & DevOps: GitHub, GitLab

Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL

Monitoring: Datadog for observability and system monitoring

Familiarity with financial data domains such as customer, product, transaction, risk, and regulatory data

Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Awareness of current and emerging technologies (Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, IoT)

Understanding of digital transformation initiatives and integration of new technologies into existing business processes

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and regulations to protect data and systems

Strong understanding of the financial services industry

Experience working in Agile development environments
