Job Description Data Engineer (Grid Dynamics)

Grid Dynamics is a leading provider of technology consulting, agile co-creation, and scalable engineering solutions for enterprise clients. We specialize in cloud, big data, AI/ML, and digital transformation initiatives.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong expertise in the Google Cloud stack

Responsibilities:

Data Extraction & Analysis

• Work with Google BigQuery / Google SQL to query and manipulate data.
• Develop scripts in Python, Go, or Perl to extract, transform, and update datasets.
• Experience with MapReduce frameworks is an advantage.

Data Visualization

• Build reports and dashboards using Google Analytics and Google Looker Studio .
• Create effective visualizations to present findings and communicate insights clearly.

Problem Solving & Pipeline Development

• Identify data engineering requirements and design scalable data pipelines .
• Use data to propose solutions and actionable recommendations.

Performance Optimization

• Analyze SQL queries and stored procedures to enhance query performance.
• Apply techniques such as Indexing, Partitioning, Parallel Processing, Caching, Efficient Storage Formats (Parquet/ORC), and In-memory Computing .

Scheduling & Automation

• Schedule and manage workflows using tools like Airflow, Dreampipe, or similar job schedulers .

Release Engineering

• Support on-demand and scheduled release management processes for data pipelines.
