Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong integration expertise, specifically someone who has hands-on experience building and managing data workflows using Workato or similar iPaaS tools.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and system integrations, where you will design scalable data pipelines, manage API-driven integrations, and ensure high-quality data flow across business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations using Workato
• Develop and manage API-based data integrations, including:
• Authentication (OAuth, API keys)
• Pagination handling
• Rate limiting & retries
• Data transformation logic
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines to support customer onboarding, migration, and system integrations
• Perform data extraction, cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure high data quality
• Create reusable Workato recipes and integration frameworks to accelerate future implementations
• Implement monitoring, logging, and error-handling mechanisms for reliability and performance
• Troubleshoot integration and data pipeline issues; optimize for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Product, Professional Services) to translate business requirements into robust data solutions
• Work with relational databases and SQL for data validation, analysis, and debugging
• Support reporting and analytics use cases by ensuring clean and reliable data availability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Integration Engineering, or similar roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Workato (preferred) or other iPaaS tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, Zapier)
• Solid understanding of API-based integrations (REST APIs) including authentication, pagination, and error handling
• Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines and data migration workflows
• Strong proficiency in SQL and working with relational data models
• Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python or JavaScript
• Experience working with data validation, cleansing, and transformation techniques
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus
• Exposure to BI/reporting tools is a plus
• Ability to think beyond tools and apply core data engineering and integration principles
