Business Intelligence Data Analyst Role Overview

As a BI Data Analyst, your mission is to transform data into insights. You will be responsible for building dashboards, maintaining data integrity, and helping leadership make decisions based on facts rather than intuition. Youll sit at the intersection of data engineering and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Data Visualization: Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards and reports for business in sighting.

Data Cleaning (ETL): Assist in gathering data from various sources and ensuring its clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.

Ad-hoc Reporting: Respond to quick-turnaround data requests from different departments (Marketing, Sales, Finance).

Trend Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify patterns, anomalies, or opportunities for growth.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business leaders to define what "success" looks like and determine the metrics needed to measure it.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Strong analytical foundation in business or data

SQL: Foundational knowledge for SQL to perform adhoc queries

Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with Power BI or Google Looker Studio.

Excel: Advanced skills. You should know your way around Power Query and complex formulas.

Good to Know : A solid grasp of basic statistical concepts (mean, variance, correlation) to ensure data is interpreted correctly.
