Job Description
We want to know how you’ve prioritized, planned, and executed research projects on data analysis and investment data. You’ll enjoy working across departments, managing stakeholder and client relationships, addressing their needs, and informing them of progress. You’ll be an expert on institutional investment and eVestment data, solving problems and educating clients and colleagues. You’ll assist peers and clients with questions and seek answers when needed.
This role is not linear or task-focused. If you prefer a highly structured setting with well-defined steps, you may find the agile environment challenging. This role involves interaction and visibility, not just data analysis or modeling. We value technology, data, metrics, and client interactions. If you prefer relaxed, quiet days without urgency, this role may not be for you. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Bangalore and the United States.Nasdaq eVestment is looking for a passionate Data Analyst with a focus on building a contact dataset to join the Nasdaq team in India. If Innovation and effectiveness drive you forward, this is the place for you!
With this position we offer:
Join the Data Services organization where we are seeking a candidate to help lead our contact dataset collection and maintenance in addition to other respobsibilities.
Your role and responsibilities:
- We want to hear about how you’ve optimally prioritized, planned, and completed research projects pertaining to data analysis and investment data in the past. You’ll enjoy engaging across departments and have a curiosity about optimally handling stakeholder and client relationships by consulting them for their input, expertly addressing their needs, and informing them of issues and progress. You’ll serve as a guide on institutional investment and eVestment data, providing triage on problems and educating clients and colleagues alike on how to understand data points and our methodology. You will step in to assist your peers and our clients when they have questions, and possess the innate curiosity required to seek out an answer when you don’t have one.
- What it isn’t: It is not linear, nor is it task-focused. If you are most effective in a highly structured setting with well-defined, prescribed steps in sequential order, you are likely to feel frustrated with continuously shifting priorities in the highly agile environment we offer. This role isn’t a pure data analysis or modeling role where you’ll spend most of your time in front of a computer screen working independently. While these are elements of the role, this role will be very interactive and clear. We love technology, data, and metrics, as well as client interactions. This role isn’t routine or unhurried. If you prefer relaxed, quiet days or don’t have a well-developed sense of urgency, it would be best to pass on us and keep looking!
We expect you to have:
- Contact data collection with at least 2-3 years experience
- Expertise in institutional investment, equity, fixed income, and alternative investments!
- Shown success in professional and academic fields, leadership, and service.
- Passionate about finance, investing, and data; eager to learn industry trends and certifications.
- Excellent social skills for training, handling inquiries, and difficult client conversations.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel (Macros, pivot tables, formulas).
- Analytical and data-driven; adept at interpreting and summarizing large datasets.
- Servant leader; prioritizes supporting colleagues and their success.
Does it sound like you?
As the selection process is ongoing, please submit your application as soon as possible. We will get back to you in short order.
- Have a CFA or CAIA
- Know SQL and PowerBI
- Experience with eVestment or with Institutional Asset Management (e.g. with an asset manager, consultant, investor, or financial data provider) is a plus
