Data & AI Leader for a GCC set-up @ Chennai ONLY/1C/Need someone with an in-depth experience in the E-commerce domain (Pricing, Merchandising, Product catalogue)

The role will be that of a Data & AI Delivery Head who will work with the team for architecture, brainstorming, design delivery and execution. He/ She will be managing the Heads/leads who are anchoring the below 4 pods:

Digital Representation- For Capturing Data for BI reports- Adobe Analytics

Merchandising- Supplier Management Product, Capturing Data from Data & AI perspective

Pricing- B2B & B32C, finance & accounting, Budget , Forecast

Data Streaming Platform

We are seeking a seasoned Data & AI Leader with deep expertise in e-commerce and retail data ecosystems to drive enterprise-scale data transformation and AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine technical depth, strategic vision, and people leadership with proven experience in building and scaling high-performing teams, enabling advanced analytics, and evolving Global Capability Centers (GCCs) into strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Data & AI Strategy & Delivery
• Lead large-scale data and AI programs, including consolidation of complex source systems, data modeling, and advanced analytics enablement.
• Architect and oversee modern data platforms (Databricks, snowflakes, cloud-native solutions) to optimize performance, scalability, and latency.
• Drive AI adoption by connecting data engineering capabilities to business outcomes, enabling predictive analytics, and embedding AI/ML models into operations.
• Implement ML Ops practices including data pipelines for training, feature store management, and model monitoring to ensure robust AI/ML lifecycle management.
• Domain Leadership (E-commerce Focus)
• Apply domain expertise in e-commerce, retail, and customer-centric data ecosystems , with exposure to pricing and merchandising sub-domains .

• Leadership & Team Building
• Build and scale multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, AI engineering, UI/API development, and DevOps.

Required Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise
• Strong background in data engineering, including CDC pipelines, Databricks, snowflakes and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with real-time/streaming platforms such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Flink.
• Proficiency with analytics platforms (Databricks, snowflakes) and data governance practices.
• Deep experience in ML Ops and AI/ML model lifecycle management .
• Proven track record in e-commerce or retail data ecosystems , with exposure to pricing and merchandising .
• Experience building and leading teams of 30+ members, including direct reports across multiple disciplines.
• Prior experience in GCC setup and maturity evolution, with ability to articulate frameworks for scaling from operational support to strategic delivery.
