Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Development & Management

  • Plan and execute a diverse calendar of events, including cultural festivals, art exhibitions, holiday celebrations, and guest speaker series.
  • Curate content that reflects the diversity of the community, ensuring representation across various ethnicities, religions, and social backgrounds.
  • Manage budgets for multiple projects, ensuring high-quality output while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

2. Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Act as a liaison between the organization and local artists, performers, and cultural institutions.
  • Lead committees or volunteer groups to involve community members in the planning process.
  • Identify gaps in current programming and conduct surveys to better understand community interests.

3. Marketing & Communication

  • Collaborate with creative teams to design promotional materials (flyers, social media campaigns, and newsletters).
  • Draft press releases and manage public relations efforts to boost event attendance and visibility.

4. Administrative & Logistics

  • Secure permits, insurance, and contracts for external vendors and performers.
  • Oversee on-site logistics, including stage setup, audiovisual needs, and teardown.

Bachelors degree in Cultural Studies, Arts Administration, Sociology, or a related field.

Experience

25 years in event planning, community organizing, or non-profit management.

Interpersonal

High "Cultural Intelligence" (CQ) and the ability to navigate sensitive topics with diplomacy.

Technical

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello) and basic design tools (e.g., Canva).

Soft Skills

Exceptional public speaking, conflict resolution, and "out-of-the-box" creative thinking.

Work Environment
