Purpose of Role:

The role of CTO Engineer is to support Configure to Order project (CTO) by rationalizing the product options and developing modular BoM for all of the Weir products. This role require knowledge on product engineering, concept of Product configuration, BOM management, PLM & CAD expertise and business knowledge. The role is within a globally distributed team and the ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, a self-starter, a champion for the team, and passionate about delivering quality solutions.

Candidate should have an ability to work in an Agile development framework collaborating with teams globally to deliver Program Objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the product data, specifications, engineering rules
  • Analyze as Sold BOMs, work with multiple regional teams to standardize and create global BOM with option to contextualize for each region
  • Re-design or support the redesign of existing product lines to improve modularity and suitability for CTO implementation
  • Understand Sales BOM, EBOM, MBOM
  • Understand the different pricing methodologies, discounting methodologies
  • Closely working with different product line engineers to build and support modular BOMs/CPQ data model with configuration structure, product rules, pricing and discounting
  • Responsible for completeness and correctness of modular BOMs/CPQ data model with all respects with the input from engineering team
  • Develop Rules, configurations, alternatives
  • Execute projects as per defined quality, OTD & Schedule.
  • Reviewing the Standard operating procedure of Projects and exploring possibilities of automation.
  • Ability to communicate/report/document technical information with project team and customer

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • CTO/ETO Expertise: 2–3 years of experience in CTO (Configure to Order) implementation; proven ability to design and maintain engineering for complex products in CTO and ETO environments; understanding of ordering processes like CTO, ETO, and DTO.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of product structures and processes including eBOM, MBoM, and PBoM; exposure to manufacturing requirements.
  • Tools & Systems: Proficient in TeamCenter PLM, NX CAD (preferably all modules of NX 11), and SAP.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with mining industry products such as pumps, cyclones, crushers, and screens.
  • Configurator Tools: Experience with tools like Tacton, Epicor, Conga, or similar.
  • Soft Skills & Collaboration: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work effectively with global teams
