Job Description

Job Title: Crew Sourcing

Location: Andheri East, Mumbai

Department: Crewing

Reporting to: GM Fleet

Job Summary:

The Crew Sourcing- Executive is responsible for identifying, attracting, and recruiting competent and qualified officers for the company's managed fleet. This role requires a strong network within the maritime industry, expertise in crew sourcing strategies, and the ability to ensure compliance with international regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Officer Recruitment & Sourcing:
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to recruit competent and experienced officers (Masters, Chief Engineers, Chief Officers, Second Engineers, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a network of officers through industry connections, maritime academies, and recruitment agencies.
  • Conduct interviews, screening, and assessment of officers to ensure suitability for the fleet.
  1. Database & Pipeline Management:
  • Maintain an updated database of officers, ensuring availability for fleet deployment.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with ex-crew and potential recruits to ensure a steady talent pipeline.
  1. Market Analysis & Competitor Benchmarking:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, wage scales, and competitor hiring strategies to attract the best talent.
  • Provide insights on market conditions to improve recruitment and retention strategies.
  1. Compliance & Certification:
  • Ensure officers meet all statutory, regulatory, and client requirements, including STCW, flag-state endorsements, and medical certifications.
  • Work closely with compliance and training teams to ensure certification and documentation validity.
  1. Coordination with Crewing Operations & Technical Teams:
  • Collaborate with crewing operations to align recruitment with fleet requirements and planned rotations.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure officers meet vessel-specific operational needs.
  1. Vendor & Agency Management:
  • Manage relationships with manning agents and third-party recruitment providers to optimize hiring efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with recruitment agencies.
  1. Retention & Welfare Programs:
  • Develop engagement and retention programs to enhance officer loyalty and minimize turnover.
  • Address officer concerns and feedback to improve overall job satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum6-8 years of experience in crew sourcing, recruitment, or crewing operations within a ship management or ship-owning company.
  • Strong network and connections within the maritime industry, especially with officers in various ranks.
  • In-depth knowledge of STCW, MLC, flag-state regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent maritime qualification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with crewing software and recruitment management tools is a plus.
