1) Objective of the role:

The Creative Strategist (Copywriter) is responsible for ideating, scripting, and scaling high-performance ad creatives across paid channels. The role focuses on cracking new angles, writing winning hooks and scripts, and translating performance insights into repeatable creative frameworks. This role directly impacts revenue by supplying test-ready scripts and messaging for aggressive experimentation and scale.


2) Responsibilities

  • Ideate and develop new creative angles for performance marketing campaigns.
  • Write ad scripts, hooks, and messaging for short-form videos, statics, and UGC formats.
  • Research competitors, spy ads, and market trends to identify winning patterns.
  • Break down winning ads into repeatable frameworks for scaling variations.
  • Collaborate closely with Video Editors, Media Buyers, and Creative Leads.
  • Translate performance data (CTR, hold rate, CPA) into creative insights.
  • Maintain a structured repository of scripts, hooks, angles, and learnings.
  • Participate in daily/weekly creative reviews and iteration cycles.
  • Deliver scripts aligned with testing velocity, deadlines, and performance goals.

3) Required Skills and Qualifications (Personality/Attributes/ Traits)

  • 23 years of experience in copywriting or creative strategy (performance marketing preferred).
  • Strong command over hooks, storytelling, persuasion, and emotional triggers.
  • Ability to think in angles, problems, consequences, solutions, and offers.
  • Clear, structured, and persuasive writing skills.

  • Outcome-driven: thinks in terms of performance, not just creativity.
  • Curious & investigative: naturally inclined to analyze why ads work or fail.
  • High ownership mindset: takes responsibility for creative output and results.
  • Comfortable with feedback and rapid iteration.

  • Detail-oriented, especially with hooks, phrasing, and structure.
  • Resilient in high-testing environments where most ideas wont win.
  • Collaborative, but confident in defending creative logic with data and reasoning.

4) Preferred skills and knowledge

  • Experience in performance-driven niches (Finance, Insurance, Lead Gen, SaaS, D2C, etc.).
  • Understanding of UGC ad formats and creator-style scripting.
  • Familiarity with spy tools, creative dashboards, and ad libraries.
  • Ability to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, prompt frameworks) for ideation and speed.
  • Basic understanding of media metrics and how creatives impact performance.
  • Prior experience working with creative testing frameworks or variation systems.
