Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Actions Team Lead with a strong automation background to supervise our operations team in Bangalore. This role combines team leadership with technical expertise in process automation, requiring someone who can drive efficiency improvements while maintaining operational excellence. The position works closely with our UK and Australian operations teams and will be instrumental in implementing automation solutions across our global corporate actions processing.
As part of our global corporate actions processing capability, you will be a key processor in our Bangalore team. While you will lead the team, your primary focus will be hands-on processing of corporate actions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions. This is not a pure supervisory role - we need someone who enjoys the detailed work of corporate actions processing and can guide others through complex cases based on their own daily experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Team Supervision and Leadership
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of APAC corporate actions processing team consisting of 6-7 members
Oversee performance management and development and monitor workload distribution.
Provide guidance and support to team members on complex corporate actions
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
Prepare daily and weekly performance reports
Track and resolve operational issues
Coordinate with various stakeholders for event processing
Maintain operational controls and risk management
Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones
Day-to-Day Corporate Actions Processing
Personally handle and process complex corporate action events.
Take ownership of the most complex and high-priority corporate actions
Process corporate actions across physical accounts, CFDs, and Spread betting derivative accounts
Manage transfer operations for equity portfolios
Follow and enforce established procedures and controls
Resolve processing issues and discrepancies
Operational Execution & Process Automation
Lead and implement automation initiatives to improve team efficiency
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Create and maintain Tableau dashboards for performance monitoring
Develop and implement automated reporting solutions using VBA and macros
Document and maintain automation procedures
Train team members on new automated processes
Ensure accuracy and reliability of automated systems
Design and implement reporting solutions for stakeholders
Quality Control
Maintain high accuracy standards in corporate actions processing
Conduct quality checks on team output
Ensure compliance with procedures and controls
Escalate issues appropriately to management
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Automation & Technical Expertise
Proven track record of successfully implementing automation solutions in corporate actions or similar financial operations
Demonstrated experience in:
Reducing manual processes through automation
Building robust VBA solutions and macros for complex operations
Creating automated workflows that have measurably improved efficiency
Implementing error-reduction systems through automation
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
VBA programming and debugging
Complex macro development and maintenance
Advanced formulae and functions
Proficiency in Tableau for creating automated dashboards and reports
Experience with corporate actions systems
Strong understanding of automation best practices and documentation
Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in team management role
Should have degree in Finance or MBA
Demonstrable experience with all types of corporate actions including mandatory and voluntary events
Strong understanding of operational risks in corporate actions from direct processing experience
Proven ability to handle high volumes of corporate actions accurately
Experience mentoring others while maintaining personal processing responsibilities
Ability to work in APAC shift (2:30 am to 11:30 AM)
