Job Description
The Content Analyst will be responsible for production- and quality-related work within the Refinitiv financial transcription group. The transcription group uses proprietary techniques and software to produce transcripts that are extremely accurate and have a very fast turnaround time between the start of the event and the publication of the transcript.
The content analyst will have a range of responsibilities, which may include:
Producing and editing transcripts in accordance with the transcription style manual
Auditing transcripts for quality assurance
Testing and evaluating new production methods.
Performing additional quality assurance work for transcripts and transcript-related features
Maintaining research databases
Assisting with operations and redline processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal content analyst has a very strong understanding of the English language (grammar, sentence structure, etc.) and must be able to pass an editing test. They must understand grammar and the relation between written and spoken speech on an extremely high level, have strong attention to detail, and be able to make distinctions and judgment calls independently and on very quick notice.
Candidates with a bachelor's degree are strongly preferred, but those without degrees will be considered if related work experience is strong.
The following types of work backgrounds are most desirable:
Newspaper/magazine/online journalism
Freelance writing/editing
English composition teaching
Editing/proofreading
Court reporting or other transcription work
The Content Analyst should also have the following skills/experience:
Strong computer skills
Customer service skills
Experience working with style guides is a plus.
Good typing speed (~60WPM)
MS Office experience, especially Word and Outlook, and the ability to quickly learn new software. Service Cloud experience is a plus.
A background in finance and knowledge of financial terminology is a plus, although coming from a background type listed above is more important.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
