Job description:

Responsibilities :-
Adhering to SLAs defined by the business/client
Mentoring team members and training them for newer features/technologies
Guiding team members in case of Technical/Operational Problems and Issues
Reporting to the Track Lead / Team Lead for technical and operational activities
Handling tickets/ Incidents
Performing root cause analysis for severity 1 issues
Planning and Implementing Change Requests
Applying patches/upgrades to maintain security level
Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
Suggesting, Planning/Testing of new technologies and design changes as and when applicable
Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
Troubleshooting technical issues related and handling escalations from the team members
Ensuring that the processes are adhered to while working on any problem incident/change request
Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction by the way of quality in the day to day tasks
Planning the overall Backup/Restoration Strategy
Understanding of Multi-Geo support environment and ensuring that the team is in-line to the industry
Responsible for building and maintaining test environment
Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario
Testing/Auditing/Processes as required from time to time
Identify Skill Gaps and plan for training and knowledge updating
Prepare onboarding plan for all new members coming to the team for training and KT

Technical Requirements
Should have hands on experience in handling Veritas netbackup backup product & its featues as for the latest release (Version 4 .x - Version 7.x)
Should have hands on knowledge and experience in Implementing ,upgrading,migrating and configuring Veritas server across heterogeneous platform
Should have worked on multiple vendor product Devices used in backup Library,drives, medias, (IBM,SUN,HP,Quantum..),ACLS library,Data domain,VTL(IBM,EMC,Netapp..),ultrium 1to 6
Should have configured the Monitoring tools for alerting and reporting backup ,hardware ,operational reports highlighting issues and the current status of the environment (ops manager ,BMC,..)
Should be able to see logs and error messages, Analyse,resolve ,guide and take preventive action for the eslated issues related to product and devices hardware problems

Experienced to provide analysis and implementation support for data protection solutions initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the operational environment as well as day to day and long term management
Work in tandum with customer ,vendor or internal team members or other internal support groups to ensure smooth changes as well as operations of data backup functionality
Experienced in handling and managine Netbackup agent backups (Oracle RMAN, NDMP, SQL, Exchange, Virtual servers etc) .Legacy backup environment support (Netbackup 5.1, 6.x etc)
Experienced ,Knowledge or hands on handling hetereogeneous environment ( Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Microsoft Windows, and Linux platforms) as it relates to backup and recovery
