Cloud Automation Engineer

As an Azure Cloud Automation / Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for automating cloud infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management tasks using Terraform and PowerShell. You will play a key role in driving automation initiatives, optimizing cloud operations, and enabling self-service capabilities for development teams. This role requires a strong background in cloud automation, proficiency in Terraform and PowerShell scripting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Automation:
  Design, develop, and maintain Terraform templates for provisioning and managing Azure infrastructure resources, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability.
  Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to automate the deployment and configuration of cloud environments.
  Managed Technical backlog of automation requirements and create a plan to reduce the backlog.
  
• Cloud Platform Engineering:
  Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of infrastructure code and applications.
  Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines and enable continuous delivery practices.
  
• Scripting and Tooling:
  Develop PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and improve efficiency.
  Leverage Azure Automation and other cloud-native tools to orchestrate and automate cloud management tasks.
  
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver automation solutions that meet business needs.
  Share best practices, provide training, and contribute to the development of automation standards and guidelines.
  Be a Single Point of Contact for all automation related requirements.
  
  Must-Have Skills:
  
• Terraform: Proficiency in designing and writing Terraform configurations for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
  
• PowerShell Scripting: Strong scripting skills in PowerShell for automation, configuration management, and task orchestration.
  
• Cloud Automation: Hands-on experience automating cloud infrastructure and operations using tools like Terraform, PowerShell, Azure Automation, and Azure DevOps.
  
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid understanding of IaC principles and best practices for managing cloud infrastructure declaratively.
  
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop efficient automation solutions.
  
• Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  Good-to-Have Skills:
  
• Azure Certifications: Relevant Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  
• DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and agile methodologies.
  
• Containerization: Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and their integration with Azure services.
  
• Azure Resource Manager (ARM): Understanding of ARM templates and their use in provisioning Azure resources.
  
• Monitoring and Logging: Experience with Azure monitoring and logging tools for monitoring infrastructure performance and troubleshooting issues.
  Education and Experience:
  Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, automation, or related roles, with a focus on Azure cloud technologies.
