Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Resident Engineer cum Building Manager with extensive expertise in Dia-Grid and structural steel construction. The role requires end-to-end responsibility for fabrication, erection, safety, quality, and timely delivery of complex high-rise structural steel projects, including at least one Dia-Grid steel structure. This position plays a critical role in ensuring structural integrity, compliance with design specifications, and safe execution across workshop and on-site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural Steel Management: Oversee fabrication of structural steel members at fabrication yards/workshops and at the construction site as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Dia-Grid Erection: Manage the erection of Dia-Grid structural steel members, including all associated structural steel components.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality of fabrication, erection, welding, bolting, and connections in line with approved drawings, codes, and project standards.
- Construction Monitoring: Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to timelines, safety norms, and engineering best practices.
- Safety Management: Ensure overall structural safety during erection and construction phases, strictly complying with safety regulations and procedures.
- Planning & Coordination: Apply project planning tools such as PERT and CPM to monitor project progress, milestones, and critical paths.
- BIM Coordination: Coordinate with design and execution teams using BIM tools to resolve constructability and sequencing issues.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and site teams to ensure smooth execution and issue resolution.
- Building Management: Act as the on-site engineering and building management authority to ensure seamless coordination across disciplines.
Qualifications
- Post-Graduate / Graduate degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering .
- Minimum 1825 years of project management experience in construction of IT & IES, industrial, commercial, or institutional buildings.
- Must have hands-on experience in at least one high-rise Dia-Grid structural steel project .
Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in structural steel fabrication and erection .
- In-depth knowledge of welding, bolting, and connection detailing .
- Practical experience with BIM, PERT, and CPM techniques .
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale construction teams.
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making abilities.
- Thorough understanding of structural safety, quality control, and compliance standards.
