Compensation Analyst

(Technical, Reporting, and Testing Focus)


Position Summary

The Compensation Analyst will support the design, administration, and analysis of sales and corporate compensation programs with a strong emphasis on data integrity, system operations, and reporting. This role is ideal for an analytically minded individual who enjoys problemsolving, validating data, and working with modern compensation tools. The analyst will play a key role in ensuring compensation calculations are accurate, systems are functioning as expected, and leadership has access to clear, reliable reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Compensation Operations & Data Management

  • Assist in the administration of variable compensation plans across GTM teams.
  • Maintain and update compensation data within systems such as Xactly Incent, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Support data integration across systems (e.g., Salesforce Xactly Snowflake), identifying mismatches, errors, or missing fields.
  • Partner with RevOps, Sales Ops, and Finance to ensure sourceoftruth datasets are aligned and consistently managed.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Build, update, and maintain dashboards and reports in Xactly and Salesforce to provide visibility into performance, attainment, payout forecasting, and compensation trends.
  • Run recurring and ad-hoc reports to support monthly and quarterly compensation cycles.
  • Conduct variance analyses and data audits to identify discrepancies or unexpected results.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Execute structured testing (UAT, regression, scenario validation) for compensation plan changes, system enhancements, and quarterly updates.
  • Document test cases, track defects, and work with technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Monitor calculation accuracy within Xactly and ensure logic aligns with approved compensation plan documents.
  • Assist with audit requests, and compliance tasks related to compensation data and system access.


Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Xactly Incent or comparable sales compensation/commission platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, nested formulas, data modeling).
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform thorough data validation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex data findings clearly.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce experience, especially with opportunity, quota, and account data.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or other SQL-based databases (basic querying, data exploration).
  • Experience building dashboards or reports in Salesforce.
