Role: Commercial Manager / Commercials Specialist

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 36 years (Digital media agency mandatory)

Department: Operations / Media Commercials


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager who can lead commercial negotiations with publishers, affiliate networks, and third-party media vendors, while managing the full cycle of media billing, reconciliation, and revenue optimisation. This role is critical in driving agency profitability , ensuring accurate billing , and strengthening relationships with media partners.


Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Negotiations & Vendor Management

  • Negotiate deals with publishers, affiliate partners, OTT, programmatic, and third-party vendors
  • Secure better rates, bonus inventory, credit lines, and commercial incentives
  • Manage annual/quarterly negotiations for volume discounts & rate cards
  • Collaborate with media teams on commercial viability for new partners

2. Agency Revenue & Margin Optimization

  • Identify margin expansion opportunities
  • Ensure accurate application of markups, client commissions, and incentives
  • Drive strategies to improve agency profitability on spends

3. Billing & Operations

  • Oversee PO/IO creation, verification, and tracking
  • Co-ordinate with Accounts to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing
  • Validate vendor invoices with campaign data (Meta/Google dashboards)
  • Ensure smooth month-end closures and documentation

4. Reconciliation & Audit

  • Match platform spends vs vendor invoices
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve with vendors
  • Maintain detailed recon sheets for large-scale budgets
  • Work closely with Finance on audits

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Media Ops, SEO, Paid Media, Programmatic & Finance
  • Ensure zero leakages in budgets and commercial processes


Required Skills & Experience

  • 36 years in digital media agency commercials/operations
  • Strong exposure to publisher/affiliate/vendor commercial negotiations
  • Hands-on experience with media billing, POs, IOs, recon & budget tracking
  • Deep understanding of agency earning models (commission, markup, hybrid)
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP, large data recon sheets)
  • Strong communication & vendor relationship skills
  • Ability to handle 2080 Cr+ annual media budgets


Good to Have

  • Experience with Taboola, Outbrain, MiQ, InMobi, VCommission, Admitad, Optimise
  • Experience in a performance marketing setup
  • Understanding of ROAS-driven campaign commercial
