Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) is a multidisciplinary R&D center established through a collaboration between the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. HTIC works to bring together experts such as technologists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to develop impactful healthcare technologies. The center is committed to fostering innovation, driving advancements in healthcare, and building a reputation for technical excellence and collaborative efforts to benefit society.


Role Description

We are looking for a motivated Intern to support our endoscopy team in building a high-quality

medical data repository. In this role, you will act as a field-bridge, coordinating between HTIC

and multiple partner hospitals to ensure the smooth, ethical collection of video data. This is a

hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of clinical environment interaction and

technical data organization


Key Responsibilities (Internship Level)

Multi-Hospital Coordination: Assist in managing daily data collection workflows across

multiple partner hospitals. You may visit sites to ensure video recording and transfer

protocols are being followed.

Ethics Support: Help prepare documentation for Institutional Review Board (IRB) and

Ethics Committee (EC) submissions. You will learn to navigate the regulatory requirements

for clinical data.

Data Handling: Coordinate the secure transfer of endoscopy videos from hospital units to

the HTIC repository, ensuring files are correctly named and de-identified.

Preliminary Curation: Perform initial quality checks on collected videos to ensure they are

clear and usable for our research pipeline.


What We Are Looking For

Communication: Ability to interact professionally with hospital staff and doctors across

different locations.

Basic Regulatory Awareness: A foundational understanding of (or strong interest in)

clinical ethics and IRB processes.

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Clinical Research, or a related field
