Job Overview

The Client Management and Business Execution Team is looking to hire an VP client/sales strategy professional into the team to help cover Citi’s Markets Franchise globally. This role will be part of a newly setup team in India, who will work with a range of Sales management stakeholders across asset classes to drive sales and strategic initiatives spanning Global Client Management and Business Execution Teams.

The Mission of the team is to be the Trusted Advisor to Markets Sales Management in defining and executing key strategic priorities to position the client franchise for strong revenue growth coupled with robust returns. 

Responsibilities:

  • Driving strategic projects to develop the client franchise and sales organization (e.g. opportunity evaluation for new & target markets/clients, evolution of client coverage models, performance metrics, Demarketing / Offboarding clients)
  • Partnering with Sales management to execute core client strategy activities in the region (e.g. wallet benchmarking, strategic data analysis, client/business reviews)
  • Helping develop and execute cross-asset initiatives to meet evolving clients’ needs and drive greater coordination between businesses, with a key focus on strong revenue growth coupled with robust returns. 
  • Identify key themes, validate analytics, create actionable output.
  • Building and overseeing efficient processes and tools to create capacity for Sales.
  • Partner with Global and Other Regional Client Strategy Teams as well as Infrastructure and Technology partners
  • Assist, monitor and influence progress with regards to the Global Client Experience  Goals
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in Markets, deep analytical and relationship skills, and a background in strategy consulting, business development, client strategy or the front office.
  • The role will be based in Mumbai reporting jointly to the Chief of Staff and Client Strategy Head for Asia as well as UK/Europe / MEA Markets Sales.

Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Degree educated – BA/B.Com/B.Sc. MBA is a plus
  • Experience working in Markets and a desire to go deep into products/client segments/EMEA Countries and across the whole Citi organization.
  • Knowledge of industry developments with competitors, clients, market structure, markets products, regulation
  • Background in management consulting, business development, client strategy or the front office is beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to be process oriented, and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise communication skills

Skills:

  • Strategic – experience of working with seniors and advising on strategic courses of action (acting as an owner), including a sharp focus on execution and implementation.
  • Analytical – ability to work with large amounts of data and derive conclusions whilst highlighting limitations, with high standards for quality and accuracy in his/her work product.
  • Presentation – ability to frame and communicate findings powerfully using graphs and written communication 
  • Technical Proficiency : Proficient in Excel/PowerPoint and strong attention to detail. Experience in process automation/improvement/data analysis/analytics via coding (e.g., VBA/Python) and/or Tableau database developments/enhancements is a definite plus.
