Job Description
The Client Executive is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The VP Client Executive also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
Responsibilities:
- The Transaction Relationship Manager (“TRM”) through broad knowledge and experience is responsible for reviewing Bond, Loan, Escrow, Account Bank and DCM structures and documentation from initiation through to closing across the APAC region.
- The TRM will handle the legal document into practical process for the business and is the key liaison with outside counsel/ client, helping drive negotiation with client/ counsel.
- TRM serves as primary touch point for both internal stakeholders and external parties on new and existing transactions.
- At the onset of the deal TRM will need to negotiate the deal documentation, to ensure all operational and documentation standards are included to meet Citi criteria.
- During the life of the deal the TRM will review documentation to answer questions internally and externally to ensure the documents agreed to between the commercial parties are adhered to throughout the life of the deal.
- TRM will need to be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit to handle ad-hoc requests and tasks.
- The TRM work includes review of deal documents, negotiation with counsels/ clients, interaction with internal risk stewards for approvals, maintenance of records, execution of deal, providing systematic handover to Operations and internal reporting.
- There will be India specific requirements which will be essential to the role, and this would be working knowledge of Non-Debt Rules & Deposit Regulations, 2016 (RBI) for Escrow Accounts in India.

Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant experience into Legal practice and Debt Capital Market.
- Drafting and vetting complex commercial agreements/ documents, through negotiation.
- Skill to successfully negotiate with internal and external parties (law firms) to mitigate risk.
- Ability to work under tight and demanding deadlines.
- Qualification in civil or common law jurisdiction is desired.
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to use PPT, Excel and Word (MS Office).
- Working knowledge of Non-Debt Rules & Deposit Regulations, 2016 (RBI) for Escrow Accounts in India
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
