Job Summary 

As a Client Data Associate within our KYC/AML team, you will be responsible for understanding and implementing KYC standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures. You will handle and maintain confidential client documentation, collect and verify confidential client data, and review client data/processes to meet firm-wide quality standards. This role provides an opportunity to engage with the Middle office and be part of KYC/AML interactions, offering a challenging and rewarding environment for growth and development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement KYC standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a KYC expert in the Corporate and Investment banking domain to conduct end-to-end KYC.
  • Collect and verify confidential client data via publicly available and internal sources.
  • Comprehend the firm’s KYC requirements when completing documentation, including Customer Identification Program (CIP), Minimum Due Diligence (MDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Local Due Diligence (LDD), Specialized Due Diligence (SpDD), and Product Due Diligence requirements (PDD).
  • Compare and contrast differences within KYC records, highlight, and escalate any discrepancies.
  • Interface with Compliance, Screening, DDR, and AAR teams to resolve KYC exceptions and obtain approvals where necessary.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders, including Middle Office and On-shore makers, to track exceptions and KYC completion.
  • Drive process improvements and implement process changes as necessary.
  • Be flexible to multitask and effectively manage priorities across the wider function.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree and/or Graduate Degree.
  • Possess at least 10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of ongoing coaching, educating, and directing a team.
  • Lead a new team with limited Subject Matter Expertise.
  • Exhibit outstanding client management, partnership building, leadership, and direct experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders at one time.
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues and senior management.
  • Build strong relationships to influence/negotiate desired outcomes.
  • Deep-dive and investigate issues to see a successful resolution.
  • Possess strong computer skills: Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
