Civil Engineer – Factory Construction (Contract Basis)

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan for land development based on their calculations and any research conducted. They should have experience with AutoCAD and be able to utilize strong design skills in order to create visual aids. By utilizing strong organizational and communication skills, this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer on a 10-month contract to manage and supervise civil works for a factory construction project. The role involves on-ground supervision, coordination with the Project Manager and client, drawing interpretation, material management, and site handover upon completion.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Execution

• Study and interpret civil drawings, BOQs, and specifications
• Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and execution of civil works
• Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings and quality standards
• Marking and taking over the site

Site Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day on-site civil works including foundations, RCC, masonry, flooring, roads, and drainage
• Marking and layout of work areas as per drawings
• Coordinate with contractors, supervisors, and labour at site
• Ensure work progress aligns with project timelines

Material Management

• Coordinate material procurement as per project requirements
• Verify quantity and quality of incoming materials
• Ensure proper storage and usage of materials at site

Quality Control & Testing

• Coordinate material testing (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.) as per standards
• Maintain quality control records and test reports
• Ensure rectification of defects, if any

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager for daily progress updates
• Liaise with client representatives for inspections and approvals
• Support consultants and third-party inspectors during site visits

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily site progress reports
• Track material consumption and work completion
• Assist in preparation of completion and handover documents

Project Completion & Handover

• Ensure completion of works as per scope and drawings
• Coordinate snag list closure
• Assist in final inspection and handover of site to client upon project completion

Qualification & Experience

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 47 years experience in factory or industrial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction practices, drawings, and site execution

Key Skills

• Excellent drawing and plan-reading skills
• Strong site supervision and coordination abilities
• Knowledge of material specifications and testing procedures
• Basic knowledge of measurement and quantity verification
• Good communication and reporting skills

Other Requirements

• Willingness to work full-time at site for contract duration
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
