About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a CIB Portfolio Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in monitoring, documenting, underwriting, and reacting to the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of loans within CIB Portfolio Management functional area and contribute to large scale planning related to functional area
- Identify opportunity for process improvements within scope of responsibilities
- Review and analyze less complex business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
- Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
- Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of CIB Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of credit risk experience in a financial institution
- Knowledge of capital markets and counterparty credit risk, including the major financing and OTC traded products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to risk management and core values of the organization
- Personal ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment
- A CA/CFA/BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field
Job Expectations:
- Processing new or changes to limits, including lifecycle of monitoring for Front Office and CCM Senior Managers to escalate issues, as required
- Coordinating requests with Risk, including the tracking of the request and the constituent/financial documents associated with onboarding
- Reporting new business flows, as well as the tracking of new requests / onboarded accounts to business credits.
- Inputting credit limits (MPE, TRE, tenor) into Wells Fargo Risk System.
- Performing initial/interim/annual underwriting for sectors covered by the CCM team
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional area(s)
- Reviewing and identifying basic operational assignments that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives while exercising independent judgement to guide medium risk deliverables
- Receiving direction from supervisor and exercising judgment while developing understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Providing information to managers, functional colleagues and stakeholders
This role will also provide support for the Desk Limit Program (DLP) and Agent Lending Disclosure (“ALD”) Management. These programs are conducted for Asset Backed Financing (primarily short-dated trading of cash products) and Secondary Loan Trading product lines, as well as for Securities Borrowing/Lending Desk and Repo under ALD. The key activities within these programs include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Inputting default limit and grades
- Tracking counterparty and product exposures
- Coordinating of exception processes
- Distributing monthly portfolio reporting
- Performing annual counterparty and program reviews
