Chief Procurement Officer

We are seeking a Chief Procurement Officer to drive strategy, operational excellence, and transformation across multi-plant operations.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building a future-ready procurement and supply chain organisation that delivers cost leadership, resilience, scalability, and competitive advantage.

Role Purpose:

To lead the Procurement & Supply Chain function by providing strategic direction, commercial leadership, and operational excellence, while driving a large-scale transformation journey across sourcing, localisation, logistics, warehousing, and digital supply chain ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and execute enterprise-wide procurement & supply chain strategy.
• Drive localisation initiatives to strengthen resilience.
• Lead strategic supplier negotiations and long-term partnership development.
• Establish governance frameworks, performance dashboards, and KPI-driven accountability.
• Align procurement strategy with business growth, and customer expectations
• Deliver sustained YoY cost reductions across direct and indirect spend.
• Drive measurable EBITDA improvement through sourcing excellence, value engineering, and structured commodity strategies.
• Secure long-term cost competitiveness through:
• Raw material price fixation / indexed agreements
• Multi-year strategic supplier contracts
• Global sourcing leverage
• Improve gross margins across key commodities such as Steel, Casting, Forging
• Lead spend consolidation and synergy savings across business units.
• Optimise working capital via inventory control, payment terms, and cash flow strategies.

Operational Excellence:

• Lead end-to-end supply chain from demand forecasting to final delivery.
• Standardise processes across multi-plant operations.
• Improve inventory turnover, OTD, fulfilment rates, and working capital efficiency.
• Strengthen vendor performance management and supplier ecosystem development.
• Optimise logistics networks, freight management, and warehouse efficiency.

Greenfield & CapEx Leadership:

• Lead procurement strategy for greenfield & brownfield projects.
• Strategically source CapEx equipment and services.
• Establish supplier ecosystems for plant setup and ramp-up.
• Ensure governance and risk control across capital investments.

People & Culture:

• Build and lead high-performing, transformation-oriented teams.
• Drive performance culture, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead change management, cultural integration, and capability building initiatives.

Digital Transformation:

• Drive Digital Procurement Transformation
• Leverage data for demand forecasting & risk management
• Enable data-driven decision making across supply chain operations

Qualifications:

• MBA (Top-tier institute) is preferred
• Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Production) is preferred

Experience Required

• 20+ years in Automotive / Manufacturing / Engineering industry
• 810 years in senior leadership roles (CPO / Head of Procurement / Supply Chain Head)
• Proven experience managing multi-plant operations
• Led large-scale business transformation journeys
• Experience in multi-plant consolidation / merger integration
• Delivered synergy-led cost savings initiatives
• Led greenfield / brownfield projects from concept to commissioning
• Strong P&L impact and profitability improvement track record
• Successfully led change management & capability building initiatives
• Experience in global sourcing is preferred
• Experience in SAP Hana is most preferred.
