Job Description
The Chief Proctor serves as the senior authority responsible for leading the universitys proctorial governance framework. The role ensures the maintenance of discipline, safety, and ethical conduct across the campus through strategic leadership, preventive systems, and policy enforcement. As Head of the Proctor Office, the incumbent plays a central role in upholding antiragging mandates and fostering an environment that is safe, inclusive, and harassmentfree for all students.
Job responsibility-
- Provides strategic leadership to the Proctor Office, ensuring a robust governance system for student discipline and campus conduct.
- Chairs and oversees the Proctor Board, comprised of senior faculty members responsible for disciplinary oversight and enforcement across the university.
- Leads universitywide implementation of antiragging policies, ensuring strict adherence to Supreme Court mandates and institutional guidelines.
- Establishes preventive frameworks and monitoring mechanisms to maintain a safe, inclusive, and harassmentfree environment for all students.
- Guides orientation and awareness initiatives, ensuring that antiragging rules, student responsibilities, and disciplinary expectations are clearly communicated.
- Ensures transparency of conduct policies, including installation and review of information boards and communication channels across campus.
- Aligns proctorial operations with broader university governance, coordinating with academic leaders and administrative units to maintain institutional discipline standards.
- Strengthens reporting, grievancehandling, and escalation pathways, enabling prompt action and effective resolution of studentrelated issues.
Minimum Requirements
- 1215 years of academic or administrative experience in a university or highereducation environment.
- Proven experience in student discipline management, campus governance, or similar regulatory/monitoring roles.
- Prior leadership experience heading a department, committee, or governance body within an educational institution.
- Experience handling grievance redressal, conflict resolution, or disciplinary proceedings at a senior level.
Demonstrated involvement in implementing studentcentric policies, especially related to safety, conduct, or regulatory compliance (e.g., antiragging systems).
