Role Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the media company, ensuring smooth execution of content production, post-production, resource management, and business operations. The role focuses on converting creative vision into efficient, profitable, and timely output while maintaining high quality and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

Content & Production Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end production workflows (development to delivery)
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and as per quality standards
  • Supervise production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate between creative, technical, and administrative teams
  • Monitor post-production timelines, including editing, VFX, dubbing, and final delivery

Team & Resource Management

  • Lead production managers, line producers, operations staff, and support departments
  • Develop SOPs for production, equipment usage, and studio operations
  • Optimize manpower planning and vendor management
  • Ensure cross-department collaboration

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Work closely with the finance team on project budgeting and cost monitoring
  • Approve production expenses and vendor contracts
  • Implement cost-control mechanisms without compromising output quality

Channel / Platform Deliverables

  • Ensure timely delivery of content to broadcasters, OTT platforms, or clients
  • Track contractual obligations, technical specs, and deadlines
  • Coordinate with distribution and marketing teams for launch schedules

Process & Systems

  • Establish operational policies and performance benchmarks
  • Implement project management tools and reporting systems
  • Drive automation and workflow improvements in production and post-production

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with legal, union, labor, and safety regulations
  • Oversee insurance, contracts, and risk mitigation during shoots
  • Manage crisis situations (production delays, on-set issues, vendor failures)

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Negotiate with studios, equipment suppliers, freelancers, and post houses
  • Maintain relationships with key production partners
  • Support leadership in strategic partnerships and scaling operations

  • Strong understanding of film/TV/digital production workflows

  • Problem-solving under high-pressure production environments
  • Knowledge of post-production pipelines and delivery formats


Qualification Criteria

Experience & Qualifications

  • MBA / Media Management / Production background is a plus
  • Total 18+ years experience and with min 10+ years in media production, broadcast operations, or studio management
  • Proven experience in handling multiple large-scale productions simultaneously
  • Background in line production, production management, or studio operations preferred
