About the Role


As a Chief Operating Officer at Easy Green Mobility, you will be responsible for building and scaling a world-class electric bus manufacturing platform capable of producing 5,000 buses annually. Your role involves driving plant expansion, automation, supply chain localization, high-volume production efficiency, and disciplined execution of large government and private fleet contracts. You will collaborate closely with promoters, finance, R&D, and strategy teams to translate aggressive growth targets into operational reality while ensuring cost leadership, regulatory compliance, quality excellence, and sustainable profitability. This position is critical in transforming Easy Green Mobility into a leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer with strong unit economics, scalable infrastructure, and institutional investor confidence.


Role & Responsibilities


  1. Manufacturing Scale Strategy: Develop and execute a clear roadmap to scale annual production capacity to 5,000 electric buses, including plant expansion, automation, and multi-line assembly integration.
  2. Plant Setup & Operational Excellence: Lead greenfield and brownfield plant expansion, optimize plant layouts, implement lean systems, and ensure high capacity utilization with controlled costs.
  3. Production Planning & Order Execution: Drive end-to-end production planning aligned with confirmed government tenders and private fleet contracts, ensuring timely dispatch and deployment.
  4. Strategic Supply Chain & Localization: Build a robust vendor ecosystem for batteries, motors, controllers, telematics, and structural components while aggressively driving localization and long-term procurement contracts.
  5. Cost Optimization & Margin Management: Continuously optimize BOM, reduce input costs, improve throughput efficiency, and enhance EBITDA per bus at scale.
  6. Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to AIS, CMVR, homologation, and safety standards while strengthening quality systems to maintain low rejection and warranty ratios.
  7. Contract Manufacturing & Body Builder Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with established bus body manufacturers for contract manufacturing, overflow capacity, and regional assembly partnerships.
  8. Investor Readiness & Capital Strategy: Prepare detailed investor decks, operational scale-up plans, and financial projections; actively engage with potential investors, strategic partners, and institutions alongside leadership.
  9. Technology & Platform Standardization: Drive modular platform architecture across 12m and 13.5m buses to enable production efficiency, scalability, and faster time-to-market.
  10. KPI Governance & Leadership Development: Establish strong operational dashboards covering plant utilization, cost per bus, working capital cycle, warranty metrics, and delivery timelines while building a high-performance manufacturing leadership team.


Preferred Candidate Profile


  1. Large-Scale Automotive Manufacturing Experience: 10+ years of experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, or EV manufacturing with exposure to high-volume production environments.
  2. Proven Scale-Up Track Record: Demonstrated success in expanding manufacturing capacity from early-stage operations to large annual production volumes.
  3. Strong Supply Chain & Vendor Network: Deep understanding of automotive procurement, vendor development, and cost negotiation at scale.
  4. EV & Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with electric powertrains, battery systems, BMS integration, homologation, and automotive compliance norms.
  5. Financial & Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of unit economics, capex planning, working capital cycles, and EBITDA optimization in capital-intensive businesses.
  6. Investor Interaction Experience: Comfortable preparing investor decks, financial projections, and participating in capital raise discussions with PE funds, strategic investors, and institutions.
  7. Contract Manufacturing Expertise: Experience managing outsourced manufacturing or body-building partnerships with structured quality and performance controls.
  8. Execution Under Aggressive Timelines: Ability to deliver large government contracts and fleet orders within tight deadlines and multi-state deployment environments.
  9. Leadership & Organizational Building Skills: Proven capability in building cross-functional manufacturing teams and instilling a culture of operational discipline and accountability.
  10. Strategic & Hands-On Leadership Style: Equally comfortable in boardroom strategy discussions and shop-floor operational reviews.
