About the Role and the Retail Mission
Aramya is entering its scaling phase expanding from 5 to 200+ stores over the next 3 years and we are looking for a high-ownership operator who operates with urgency, discipline, and high energy a builder who gets things done fast without compromising on quality and holds themselves to exceptional execution standards. We are looking for a high-ownership operator who will act as an extension of the Retail Head and help build the retail engine required for this journey.
This role is about owning outcomes driving store performance, key metrics, expansion velocity, and execution discipline while solving new problem statements that emerge as we scale. You will work with strong domain experts across functions, but your responsibility is to ensure that everything required to build a best-in-class retail organization gets done.
Key Responsibilities
1. Retail Business Ownership
- Drive overall store performance across revenue, productivity, and profitability metrics
- Track and improve core retail KPIs (sales/sqft, conversion, AOV, repeat behavior, inventory efficiency)
- Continuously identify growth levers and execution gaps, and drive corrective action with accountability
2. Scale & Expansion Execution
- Own expansion execution from 10 200+ stores with uncompromising standards on timelines, readiness, and launch quality
- Scale the footprint aggressively while raising per-store performance benchmarks
- Eliminate expansion bottlenecks before they impact growth
3. Systems & Operating Discipline
- Architect the operating structure for a 200+ store business
- Institutionalise rigorous SOPs, reporting, and performance cadences
- Drive consistency, predictability, and high execution standards across the network
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Align multiple expert teams toward retail outcomes
- Act as the final escalation owner for critical issues
- Lead high-stakes, ambiguous problem-solving during scale
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 810 years of operator experience in high-growth startups or consumer businesses
- Engineering background from premium institutions (IITs, NITs, BITS, or equivalent)
- Proven ownership of a category, business unit, or P&L with measurable outcomes
- Extreme ownership mindset and personal accountability for results
- Highly disciplined operator with consistently high standards of execution
- Demonstrated resilience and effectiveness in fast, high-pressure environments
- Comfortable moving between strategic problem-solving and on-ground execution as required
- Structured thinker who converts ambiguity into clear, executable plans
- True all-rounder: equally strong in analysis, execution, and leadership
