Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and execution-driven Head of AI to lead Data Science and AI initiatives, with a strong focus on Generative AI and LLM-based solutions. This leadership role offers direct visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape the AI strategy of a rapidly evolving financial services organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and drive the organizations AI and Generative AI roadmap aligned with business priorities.
• Identify high-impact AI and GenAI use cases that improve productivity, reduce risk, and create competitive advantage.

GenAI Capability Development

• Design and implement GenAI-driven solutions across customer engagement, automation, credit analytics, fraud detection, personalization, and internal productivity.
• Build scalable AI frameworks that can be reused across multiple business units.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI specialists.
• Mentor team members and establish strong AI development and governance practices.

Product & Delivery Excellence

• Translate proof-of-concepts into scalable, production-ready AI products.
• Design robust AI systems and architectures that are scalable, reliable, and require minimal ongoing maintenance.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with business, technology, compliance, and product teams to ensure AI initiatives align with regulatory and strategic requirements.
• Drive adoption of AI across business functions.

AI Evangelism & Culture

• Promote AI awareness and adoption through training, demonstrations, and pilot programs.
• Act as a champion for innovation and data-driven decision making across the organization.

Technology Leadership

• Oversee the AI technology stack including LLM platforms, vector databases, ML pipelines, Python-based development, and MLOps frameworks.

Key Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM-based solutions.
• Proven experience building and scaling AI platforms or enterprise-grade AI solutions.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a high ownership and execution-driven mindset.
• Deep understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and regulatory considerations in BFSI.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments or startups is highly preferred.
