Chassis System Design Engineer (Hydraulic Power Steering)

Qualification: Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering and M-Tech:  Mechatronics

Experience Range: 4 to 6 Years

Roles & Responsibilities: 

•  Responsible for the design, development, and validation of steering systems for heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs).

Additional Skills: 

Must have:

• Strong understanding of Hydraulic Power Steering systems and components.
• Strong experience in preparation and validation of Specifications 
• Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD tools such as CATIA.
• Hand on experience in Casting /Forging manufacturing design 
• Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis and DFMEA.
• Knowledge of vehicle packaging and integration of steering systems.
• Familiarity with global automotive steering relevant standards and regulations
• Hands-on experience in defining and executing validation plans (bench, vehicle, durability testing).
• Ability to analyze test data and implement design improvements.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (CFTs).
• Experience in supplier coordination, drawing reviews, and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in maintaining design documentation, BOMs, and change management.
• Knowledge of cost optimization and design-to-manufacture principles.
• Exposure to supplier audits and Product development processes.
• Strong presentation and technical documentation skills.

Good to have:

• Exposure to mechatronic systems 
• Familiarity with simulation tools for steering dynamics or system behavior.
• Experience working in Agile or model-based development environments.
• Exposure to steer-by-wire technologies.
• PLM tool Windchill, OAS, Enovia, Teamcenter.
