Role Purpose

The Chartered Accountant will serve as the financial custodian of DPS Dwarka Expressway , taking complete ownership of the schools financial health, statutory compliance, and governance. The role requires a hands-on leader who not only manages accounts but also guides management with sound financial judgment , ensures compliance with education sector regulations, and builds robust financial systems for long-term sustainability.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) & Role Ownership1. Financial Stewardship & Governance
  • Act as the single point of accountability for all financial matters of the school
  • Ensure books of accounts reflect a true and fair view at all times
  • Safeguard school funds and ensure ethical, transparent financial practices
  • Strengthen governance by implementing strong internal controls and checks
2. Strategic Financial Planning & Budget Ownership
  • Lead the annual budgeting exercise in close coordination with the Principal and Management
  • Track financial performance against approved budgets and proactively flag risks or deviations
  • Support leadership in planning capital expenditure, infrastructure expansion, and long-term financial sustainability
  • Translate financial data into meaningful insights for decision-making
3. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Confidence
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements including Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESI, GST (if applicable), and labour laws
  • Ensure the school remains audit-ready and compliance-safe at all times
  • Represent the school confidently before auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities
  • Keep management informed of regulatory changes impacting school finances
4. Audit Leadership & Risk Mitigation
  • Lead statutory and internal audits with zero tolerance for non-compliance
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions
  • Identify financial and compliance risks early and put preventive controls in place
  • Maintain strong documentation and audit trails aligned with best practices
5. Fee Management & Revenue Assurance
  • Oversee end-to-end fee management including structuring, collection, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Ensure fee processes remain transparent, compliant, and parent-friendly
  • Monitor outstanding dues and work with internal teams to ensure timely recovery
  • Provide management with accurate fee projections and cash flow visibility
6. Payroll Oversight & Staff Compensation Governance
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Oversee statutory deductions and compliance related to salaries
  • Support HR in structuring compensation, increments, and compliance-aligned pay practices
  • Act as a financial advisor on staff cost planning and controls
7. Vendor, Procurement & Cost Control Leadership
  • Review and approve all major vendor payments and contracts from a financial and compliance standpoint
  • Ensure timely payments while maintaining strict cost discipline
  • Monitor procurement expenses and identify cost-optimization opportunities
  • Strengthen vendor reconciliation and accountability processes
8. Department Headship & Team Development
  • Head the Accounts & Finance Department with full ownership of deliverables and timelines
  • Mentor and upskill the finance team, fostering accountability and accuracy
  • Set clear performance standards and review team outputs regularly
  • Build a process-driven, audit-ready finance function aligned with school values
9. Policy Ownership & Process Excellence
  • Draft, review, and implement finance-related policies and SOPs
  • Drive standardization, automation, and process improvements in accounting and reporting
  • Ensure alignment of finance policies with DPS standards and education-sector norms
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
  • 710+ years of post-qualification experience , preferably in education, institutions, or service organizations
  • Prior experience in independently handling accounts, audits, and compliance is essential
