About the Company

We are a well-established Freight Forwarding and Logistics company based in Egmore, Chennai, delivering integrated logistics solutions including air freight, sea freight, customs clearance, and supply chain management services. We are looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead and strengthen our finance function.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chartered Accountant with 1015 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or supply chain industry. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire finance and accounts function, ensuring compliance, financial control, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations and financial reporting
• Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure timely closure of books of accounts
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships
• Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to leadership

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC, and other statutory regulations
• Handle assessments, audits, and liaise with tax authorities
• Ensure adherence to Indian Accounting Standards and applicable financial laws

Audit & Controls

• Manage internal and statutory audits
• Develop and implement internal financial controls
• Risk assessment and mitigation planning

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
• Variance analysis and performance monitoring
• Cost optimization and profitability analysis (shipment-wise / customer-wise)

Industry-Specific Responsibilities

• Revenue recognition for freight forwarding operations
• Monitoring receivables and payables cycle
• Handling foreign exchange transactions and hedging
• Managing credit control and customer risk assessment

Qualification & Skills

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
• 1015 years of relevant post-qualification experience
• Prior experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of GST and international taxation exposure
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills

Compensation

• Up to 50 Lakhs per annum (CTC)
• Performance-based incentives (if applicable)
