Senior Analyst – Business Valuation – Intangible Assets Valuation/Purchase Price Allocation – Assurance – Ch1 Audit Valuation Support

 

Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in valuation of intangible assets with hands-on experience in performing Purchase Price Allocation (“PPA”) within the transaction advisory division of a Big-4 or Tier-1 audit or consulting firm.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Review and analyse client’s purchase price allocation reports to ensure that the intangible assets are identified and the fair values assigned to acquired assets and liabilities are reasonable and comply with the relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 3, IAS 38 etc).
  • Evaluate the methodologies and assumptions used in the valuation of intangible assets, goodwill and other acquired assets. Should perform PPA valuation reviews on public/private companies or investments across various industries.
  • Collaborate with audit teams, EY audit clients and external specialists to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the PPA valuation review.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, audit teams, and external valuation specialists to gather necessary information and discuss findings related to PPAs.
  • Provide recommendations for adjustments to PPAs as required to align with accounting standards and audit requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in valuation techniques, market trends, and financial reporting standards that may impact PPA valuation reviews.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and best practice guides on PPA and valuation related matters.
  • Mentor and support junior staff in developing their comprehension of PPAs, valuation techniques and financial reporting implications.
  • Draft high-quality engagement reports to represent the comparative analysis and findings of PPA valuation review.
  • Managing and motivating teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds and fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrating in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.
  • Use current technology and tools to innovate and enhance the effectiveness of services provided and act as a leader in adopting new tools and techniques.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Qualified CA / CFA / ACCA / CPA / CMA / MBA (preferably from a premier institute) or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting with a good academic background.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of related work experience in a transaction advisory team performing valuation with a focus on purchase price allocations and intangible asset valuations.
  • Valuation experience with an investment banking, commercial banking, venture capital, private equity, premier real estate or accounting/advisory firm is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Strong valuation skills and knowledge of Accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Knowledge and experience across specific industries such as real estate, financial services etc preferred.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges in a collaborative team environment.
  • A strong desire to continually develop themselves and others.
  • Ability to successfully manage engagements including the work of team members, client interaction and quality of service.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (compulsorily in Excel) and exposure to various analytics tools including Spotfire, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel Macros/VBA would be preferred.
  • We would expect you to be available to travel outside of your assigned office location, plus commute within the region to other GDS locations on a short or long-term basis, whenever required.
