Certification Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a #BESSCertification Engineer to lead compliance, testing, and certification activities for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role will ensure all systems meet applicable safety, regulatory, and performance standards for grid-connected and renewable energy applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate BESS designs including battery packs, BMS, PCS/inverters, EMS, and protection systems.
• Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BIS, and local grid codes.
• Coordinate certification activities with external agencies and testing laboratories.
• Lead validation processes including type testing, FAT, SAT, and performance verification.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for regulatory approvals and audits.
• Support grid integration and renewable project compliance requirements.
• Work closely with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure certification readiness.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical / Power / Renewable Energy Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Li-ion battery systems (LFP/NMC preferred).
• Experience with grid-connected power systems and energy management systems.
• Familiarity with electrical design tools (ETAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink preferred).
• Solid understanding of global certification standards and safety codes.

Preferred

• Prior experience in BESS, EPC, utility-scale storage, or power system certification.
• Certification in BESS / Quality / Six Sigma (added advantage).
