Cath-Lab Nurse

Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.

• Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation and cardiac procedures
• Take patient's vital signs, oxygen levels and heart rhythm
• Ensure patients chart and records are updated
• Monitor patient's vital signs during the procedure
• Administer medication according to the physicians
• instructions before, during and after cardiac procedures
• Assist during emergencies and perform lifesaving procedures
• Adhere departmental safety and quality procedures
  Respond to patient concerns and answered questions
• Educate patients on what was involved with the procedure of inserting the catheter
• Implemented infection control practices
